- 4 cups fresh apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon, then spread them evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apples.
- Pour the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover it evenly.
- Optionally, sprinkle chopped nuts on top for an added crunch.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling and fragrant.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with a generous scoop of ice cream on top.
Notes
