Description

A comforting and easy dessert featuring tender apples, a buttery cake mix, and optional crunchy nuts, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon, then spread them evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apples.
  4. Pour the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover it evenly.
  5. Optionally, sprinkle chopped nuts on top for an added crunch.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling and fragrant.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with a generous scoop of ice cream on top.
