Description

A creamy and refreshing dip inspired by Mediterranean flavors, perfect for pairing with pita bread or grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill or mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and the grated cucumber.
  2. Add the minced garlic, olive oil, and vinegar or lemon juice.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are blended and invitingly creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
  6. Serve with warm pita bread, colorful vegetables, or use as a sauce for grilled meats.
  7. Garnish with fresh dill or mint if desired for a pop of color and flavor.

Notes

This tzatziki can be made ahead of time and stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days. Squeeze excess water from the cucumber to avoid a watery dip.
