- 6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a baking dish.
- Mix the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.
- Pour half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle half of the cheese on top.
- Add the remaining potatoes in a second layer, topping with the rest of the cream mixture and remaining cheese.
- Dot the top with butter.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes until potatoes are tender and golden.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
Make ahead by preparing in advance and refrigerating. Use a mandoline slicer for even potato slices.
