Description

A comforting dish of creamy and cheesy scalloped potatoes perfect for family gatherings or easy weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a baking dish.
  3. Mix the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle half of the cheese on top.
  5. Add the remaining potatoes in a second layer, topping with the rest of the cream mixture and remaining cheese.
  6. Dot the top with butter.
  7. Bake for 45-60 minutes until potatoes are tender and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing in advance and refrigerating. Use a mandoline slicer for even potato slices.
