- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 container whipped topping
- Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Mix until well combined; the batter should be creamy and smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake according to package instructions, usually about 30-35 minutes.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes.
- Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
- Mix the sweetened condensed milk with the chocolate syrup in a separate bowl. Pour this mixture over the warm cake.
- Cool the cake completely, then spread the whipped topping over the top.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 120 minutes before serving.
Notes
