Description

A creamy, dreamy side dish that evokes memories of family gatherings and brings warmth to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh corn kernels (or 2 cans of corn)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, letting it sizzle and fill the kitchen with aroma.
  2. Add the fresh corn (or drained canned corn) and sauté for a few minutes until tender and golden.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream and milk, warming everything through to a gentle simmer.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, mixing well.
  5. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For a cheesy version, stir in shredded cheddar cheese. You can also add lime juice and chili powder for a zesty twist.
