Description

A comforting bowl of creamy beef pasta featuring tender penne, savory ground beef, and a velvety sauce, perfect for cozy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and reserve 1 cup of the pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned (about 7 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  5. Mix in the grated Parmesan until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, tossing gently to coat every piece.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead sauce can be stored in the fridge. Substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef if desired.
