Description

A delightful twist on classic banana bread, combining ripe bananas with swirls of cinnamon and sugar for a comforting treat.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Cream cheese frosting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth, then mix in the melted butter.
  3. Combine the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract with the banana and butter mixture.
  4. Add the baking soda and salt, then fold in the flour until just combined.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon sugar by mixing cinnamon and brown sugar in a separate bowl.
  6. Layer half of the banana bread batter in the loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Swirl the batter using a knife to create cinnamon ribbons throughout the bread.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Optionally, top with cream cheese frosting.

Notes

This bread tastes better the next day, so feel free to make it in advance!
