A delightful twist on classic banana bread, combining ripe bananas with swirls of cinnamon and sugar for a comforting treat.

- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Cream cheese frosting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth, then mix in the melted butter.
- Combine the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract with the banana and butter mixture.
- Add the baking soda and salt, then fold in the flour until just combined.
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar by mixing cinnamon and brown sugar in a separate bowl.
- Layer half of the banana bread batter in the loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Swirl the batter using a knife to create cinnamon ribbons throughout the bread.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Optionally, top with cream cheese frosting.
Notes
This bread tastes better the next day, so feel free to make it in advance!
