Description

A quick and easy Hibachi Steak recipe that brings the flavors of a Japanese restaurant to your kitchen. Perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. boneless steak like sirloin or fillet, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce or mirin
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and a sprinkle of pepper. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Melt the butter: Over medium-high heat, melt the butter in a large pan or skillet until it starts to bubble.
  3. Sauté the garlic: Toss in the minced garlic and sauté it for about 30 seconds, or until it becomes golden and fragrant.
  4. Add the steak bites: Carefully add the steak pieces to the pan, tossing them gently with the garlic and butter to combine.
  5. Pour in the sauce: Drizzle the prepared sauce over the steak, tossing everything to coat the meat thoroughly.
  6. Stir-fry to perfection: Stir-fry the steak for about 5 minutes, letting the sauce cook down and the beef get nicely seared.
  7. Finish with sesame oil (optional): For added richness, drizzle sesame oil over the cooked steak just before serving.
  8. Dish and serve: Enjoy hot with hibachi rice, hibachi noodles, or your favorite vegetables.

Notes

Consider marinating the steak for an hour to enhance flavor. Cut your steak evenly for uniform cooking.
