- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional Toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, green onions
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and vegetable broth.
- Add the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low and let it cook for about 30-40 minutes.
- Serve hot, allowing everyone to personalize their bowls with optional toppings.
