- 1 loaf of French bread
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish, allowing the warmth to fill your kitchen.
- Cut the French bread into bite-sized cubes and place them gently in the prepared baking dish.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well blended.
- Pour the pumpkin mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down gently to soak the bread.
- Cover your dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes until golden and set.
- Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
