Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, water, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the flour until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and soft.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 4-5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the dough into a round loaf and let it rest for another 2-3 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Score the top of the loaf with a knife.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the loaf cool before slicing.

Notes

You can prepare the dough the night before and refrigerate it after the first rise for more flavor development.
